Overhead & EOT Cranes
Bridge cranes, gantry cranes, monorail and underslung systems for industrial facilities. Duty classifications FEM A1–A8 covering light workshops to continuous steel plant operations.
Single Girder EOT Crane
The most widely used overhead crane in India. One bridge girder carries an underslung electric hoist. Lower self-weight means smaller runway beams and lighter building structure. Ideal for maintenance bays, small fabrication shops, warehouses, and assembly lines handling loads under 20 tonnes.
Key Features
- Underslung hoist for maximum hook height
- Lower headroom requirement vs double girder
- Lightweight — reduces civil/structural costs
- Wire rope or chain hoist compatible
- Manual push, semi-geared, or motorised end carriage options
- IP55 or ATEX rated hoists available
Typical Applications
- Automobile workshops
- Pharma warehouses
- Light fabrication
- Service bays
- Cold storage
Not suitable above 20t; lower hook height vs double-girder at equal span.
Double Girder EOT Crane
Two parallel box girders support the crab/trolley assembly, placing the hoist on top of the bridge. This configuration delivers higher hook heights, better structural stiffness, and suitability for the heaviest duty cycles in steel plants, foundries, and heavy-engineering facilities.
Key Features
- Crab mounted on top of girders for maximum hook height
- Handles capacities from 5t to 800t+
- Suitable for FEM A8 continuous duty (steel plants)
- Cabin operated or radio remote control
- Auxiliary hoist and rotating trolley options
- Festoon cable or conductor bar power supply
- Electromagnetic coil, grab, or ladle attachment options
Typical Applications
- Steel mills & rolling plants
- Foundries & forge shops
- Heavy engineering
- Shipyards
- Power plants
Higher initial cost; requires stronger runway beams; taller building clearance needed.
Underslung Crane / Monorail
Travels on the lower flange of existing I-beam structures or dedicated runway beams without a separate runway system. Provides flexible routing around columns and equipment. Popular in pharma, cleanrooms, and machine shops where floor space is critical.
Key Features
- Uses existing steel structure as runway
- Can follow curved paths around obstacles
- No dedicated runway — lower installation cost
- Chain hoist standard; wire rope for >2t
- ATEX and cleanroom versions available
- Manual, semi-electric, or fully electric operation
Typical Applications
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Cleanrooms
- Machine shops
- Maintenance facilities
- Auto assembly
Limited to light capacities (typically <5t); load path constrained to beam layout.
Gantry & Semi-Gantry Crane
Both legs travel on floor-level rails (full gantry) or one leg on a wall runway (semi-gantry). Used outdoors for yards, ports, and precast facilities where an overhead runway structure is not practical.
Key Features
- Full or semi-gantry configurations
- Single or double girder bridge
- Long travel up to 500m rail runs
- Open-top container spreader option for port use
- Wind-load rated for outdoor operation
- Hydraulic rail clamps for stormproofing
Typical Applications
- Precast concrete yards
- Steel service centres
- Container yards
- Port laydown areas
- Timber yards
Requires well-prepared floor rails; wind loading must be calculated for outdoor use.
Jib Crane (Wall / Pillar Mounted)
Rotating cantilevered arm crane mounted on a wall bracket or free-standing pillar. Provides 180–360° coverage of a work zone without tying up the main overhead crane. Ideal for machine-tending, loading/unloading, and assembly stations.
Key Features
- Wall-mounted (180°) or pillar-mounted (270°–360°) rotation
- Manual or motorised slew drive
- Chain hoist or wire rope hoist
- Below-hook tooling and vacuum lifter compatible
- Quick to install — one anchor point for pillar type
- Explosion-proof variants available
Typical Applications
- CNC machine tending
- Welding stations
- Packing lines
- Maintenance pits
- Loading docks
Limited reach and capacity; not a substitute for main overhead crane.
Ladle / Foundry Crane
Specialist double-girder crane for steel and foundry operations carrying ladles of molten metal. Designed to the highest duty classifications with redundant braking, anti-sway, and temperature-resistant components.
Key Features
- Redundant hoisting machinery for safety
- Anti-sway and anti-collision systems
- Heat-shielded cables and components
- Extended duty cycle — up to 24 hrs/day operation
- Main + auxiliary + auxiliary hoist arrangement
- Remote diagnostics and condition monitoring
Typical Applications
- Steel melt shops
- Secondary metallurgy (AOD/VOD)
- Ferro-alloy plants
- Grey-iron foundries
Requires highest-grade civil and electrical infrastructure; specialist maintenance contract recommended.
